The Center for European Studies' (CEuS) CEuS Invited Lecture Series serves to network with the Friedrich Schiller University's other research facilities. It provides a framework to invite top-class speakers as well as to organise joint events.

  • Following an invitation of Prof. Dr. Klaus Ries, Prof. Dr. Werner Greiling and Dr. Alexander Schmidt from the Historical Institute, on 5 June 2019 Prof. Dr. Jörn Leonhard from the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg spoke about "Germany in the "dreamland" between armistice and peace agreement in 1918/19".
  • On 3 December 2018 Prof. Gili S. Drori of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem (Israel) spoke at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Peter Walgenbach of the Faculty of Economics about "Worldwide Patterns of Managerialism in Academia: The Case of Branding of Universities".
